our process

With over 30 years of experience and top of the line equipment, we have perfected the process of making quality wood products. We specialize in live edges, engraving, and custom DIY projects. Let us know what you need and we will work with you.

Slabs are not listed for sale until after they have been kiln dried and flattened. Our shipping times are fast and there are no surprises when you receive your product - the grain pictured is the grain you will get.

  • Sawmill

We start the process by cutting the logs. We can cut them in two ways: lengthwise or crosswise.

  • Kiln dryer

After the logs are cut, the slabs go into the vacuum sealed kiln. This enhances the color of the wood and prevents warping and twisting.

  • Surfacer

We use top of the line equipment to make sure each slab is flattened and surfaced with precision.

  • Finishing

We offer optional finishing services on our slabs. We sand the wood and apply multiple layers of high quality filler, epoxy, and finish for stunning results.

We are a small family farm in Glens Fork, Kentucky. In addition to woodworking, we also raise rabbits, sheep, goats, and chickens with the help of our faithful dogs. You can find our homemade goat’s milk soap, lip balm, and bath bombs at the local farmers market.

sustainability

We are proud to operate as an eco-friendly and sustainable business. Every piece of wood in our store is sourced from fallen trees found on our property or within the local community. Additionally, our property is powered by solar energy, further reducing our environmental impact.
